About Us

Who We Are?

Human Rights and Development for Bangladesh (HRDB) is a US-based organization committed to protecting and promoting the rights and freedoms of individuals in Bangladesh. Guided by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) principles, we envision a society where everyone can live with dignity, free from injustice, discrimination, and oppression.

Our mission is to advance equality, social justice, and freedom for everyone, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation. We strive to achieve this through education, advocacy, and community-driven initiatives.

Our Mission

To promote and protect human rights in Bangladesh by addressing oppression, discrimination, injustice, and inequality while fostering peace, justice, inclusion, and freedom for all individuals, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation.

Our Vision

A Bangladesh where every person lives with dignity, free from injustice, violence, and oppression, and has equal access to their fundamental rights in a fair and inclusive society.

History

Our journey began almost two decades ago with a small group of concerned citizens seeking information on basic rights and human rights in Bangladesh. Since then, HRDB has grown, expanding its reach both domestically and internationally. We have researched and promoted peace, exposed human rights violations, and addressed abuses against marginalized groups, including immigrants and people of color.

Today, our mission encompasses equal justice, peace, and dignity for all in Bangladesh. We researched and promoted peace and even human rights violations abroad , along with government take-overs of the media and the baseless arrests of activists and political opposition figures overseas. At the same time, we expanded our work to address abuses against those likely to face injustices through discriminatory practices,, including minorities, and people of faith.

Now our work has gone beyond the single scope of basic rights to our current expanded focus of equal justice, peace and dignity for all and we make it possible through conducting research, exposing injustice through the media, providing support to victims, raising awareness through seminar/symposiums, and advocating with government officials and international organizations.
